Beirut is in shambles. What took place on August 4th 2020 was a result of years’ neglect and corruption. Our brothers and sisters have suffered tremendous losses from the lives of the young and old to the hopes and dreams and decades of hard work and dedication. All vaporized within seconds amid a massive shockwave that spared nothing and nobody.
As we stand undamaged in our hotel in Jounieh, we cannot and will not stand idly by as 300,000 people are left stranded, 100,000 of them are children torn and tormented by the blast, possibly long after the blast. As a result, Al Murjan Palace Hotel immediately provided 20 rooms to shelter the families with damaged homes. Our campaign was outreached on our social media channels and expanded to Sawt El Ghad FM, a prominent radio station that was providing relief for the ongoing crisis.
Our calls were met with great response, around 4 families checked in at the first night and all Covid-related precautions were taken into consideration to avoid another disaster on top of this crisis.
